Located at 54 S. Main Street in the center of historic Kanab, Utah, The Purple Sage Inn is perfectly situated for walking to local attractions, restaurants and shops. In 1989, Arthur and Alice Brown purchased the Italianate style home and completely restored the neglected and abandoned dwelling. Many porches and balconies adorn this beautiful and comfortable house from 1884.

Kanab sits at the crossroads to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Toroweap (a remote but spectacular view of the Grand Canyon), Zion National Park, Lake Powell, and Bryce Canyon National Park.

The Purple Sage Inn aka The William Derby Johnson, Jr. House is listed on The National Register of Historic Places and is the winner of the Utah Heritage Foundation's 2002 Heritage Award. The home was also features in five issues of Victorian Homes magazine (February 2005, April 2005, June 2005, August 2005 and October 2005).
